The Mifflin Township Division of Fire's Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for providing fire inspections to more than 1,200 businesses in the city of Gahanna and unincorporated area of Mifflin Township. The Bureau has one full-time and five part-time fire inspectors. Inspectors are assigned to provide inspections in the four fire station districts and are certified through the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the State Fire Marshals’ office.
The Bureau provides inspections for all commercial occupancies, child care facilities, foster care and home adoption. We offer fire drill assistance for educational, institutional and residential occupancies.
The Bureau assists the State Fire Inspector with licensing inspections for hotels and nursing homes and the Gahanna Building Department with building plan review and new building construction.
