10.11.14 Drug Disposal Day Planned
NBC4 (WCMH-TV) and Boehringer Ingelheim are working together to increase awareness of the teen prescription drug abuse epidemic through a multimedia community campaign, Prevent Teen Prescription Drug Abuse. The next upcoming event will be on Saturday, October 11, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at six Kroger locations. 10.10.14 Mumps Outbreak Declared Over in Central Ohio
Public health officials have announced that the central Ohio mumps outbreak is now over. The community mumps outbreak has been resolved with less than one case per week sustained over seven consecutive weeks (Aug. 3-Sept. 20, 2014). During this time, only three cases of mumps with onset of illness were reported.  The most recent central Ohio mumps case was reported on Sept. 2. Learn More >

 9.24.14 - Enterovirus D68 Causing Severe Respiratory Illness The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) in suspected cases in central Ohio.  The test results followed an increase in emergency department and urgent care visits and hospitalizations in children with severe respiratory illnesses at local hospitals. Learn More >
