As a reminder to Mifflin Township residents, Rumpke has provided the following guidelines on trash, recycling and yard waste service.
Trash and Recycling “Cart Contents Only” Service
Each residence receives one brown cart for trash and one green cart for recycling from Rumpke.
Cart Contents Only: Trash and recycling service is CART CONTENTS ONLY, meaning trash and recycling will be collected only if it fits inside your Rumpke cart with the lid closed. Trash and recycling placed outside your Rumpke carts will not be collected. Personal containers cannot be used. If you have more trash or recycling than your cart holds, contact Rumpke to rent an extra cart.
Cart Exchanges: If needed, you may exchange your cart(s) for different sizes, or rent an additional cart. Contact Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171 to do so. Fees may apply.
Cart Contents Only: Place your carts curbside the evening before your service day, with the within three feet of the street with the front facing the street (and wheels facing away), and at least three feet from all other objects, to ensure Rumpke can access and empty your cart.
Bulky Items & Appliance Collection
Rumpke will collect bulky household items (such as appliances, carpet, furniture and large toys) from the curb on your trash service day. Please call Rumpke 24-hours in advance. A bulky item is an item that is too large to fit in the trash cart. Bulky item collection is not for extra trash that simply does not fit in the selected cart. Please contact Rumpke for information about items with Freon.
